Crash near Goshen sends two to hospital

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a multiple vehicle crash at the intersection of County Roads 46 and 25 Saturday afternoon just before 2 p.m.

Christopher James, 46-year-old resident of Elkhart, was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra Pickup southbound on CR 25 toward the intersection of CR 46.

Shannon Bonee, 48-year-old resident of Elkhart, was driving a 2012 Ford F150 Pickup westbound on CR 46 when James failed to yield the right of way, causing a crash.

Bonee and all three of his passengers received non-life threatening injuries.

11-year-old Tyson Bonee and 5-year-old Keegan Gabbard were taken to Goshen Hospital by ambulance.

According to officials, Keegan had head pain and Tyson might have a broken leg.

29-year-old Brea Bonee had pain in her left hand but refused medical treatment at the scene.

Shannon had pain in his left leg but also declined medical treatment.

James had no injuries and was cited for failure to yield.

Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
