ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –– The country has been without professional and amateur sports for well over a month now due to COVID-19. With the pandemic continuing to evolve, there is real concern that fall high school sports could be effected.
Indiana High School Athletic Association Commissioner Bobby Cox said although he is hopeful fall sports will begin on time, the IHSAA needs to prepare for a worst-case scenario.
“Without that fall sport revenue our member schools will have a very difficult time meeting their needs and requirements moving forward through the school year. From the association stand point we have lost over one million dollars of revenue because of the basketball tournament and no spring sports," Cox said.
