Compost fire in LaPorte County active since Sunday

La Porte EPA LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte Fire Department responded to a fire on Zieglar Road at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The La Porte County EPA has issued an Air Quality Alert for fire smoke in La Porte. Heavy smoke may reduce visibility and cause health issues, especially for sensitive groups.
The La Porte County EPA is urging residents to limit outdoor activities and keep windows closed and use clean indoor air if possible until conditions improve.
