BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Today the Fraternal Order of Police gathering at the Berrien County Law Enforcement Memorial Monument to remember and pay their respects for the officers who have died in service to Southwest Michigan.
The community joining the FOP members, saying their sacrifice to keep their communities safe will never be forgotten.
"These officers were coaches. They were family members. They were dads, husbands, brothers, friends, confidants and just pillars of the community," stated Fraternal Order of Police Blossomland Lodge 100 Deniece Fisher.
Since 1907 20 officers in Berrien County have been killed on duty, their names enshrined onto the monument.
