UPDATE: 22-year-old man found guilty of charges filed in November 2020 homicide in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- UPDATE: The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office reports a jury found 22-year-old Amari Lenoir guilty of one count of Murder on Oct. 2, for the Nov. 10, 2020, homicide of 47-year-old Dorian Harris, of South Bend.

The jury also found Lenoir guilty of the Firearm Enhancement.

The sentencing range for Murder is 45 to 65 years, and five to 20 years for the Firearm Enhancement.

Lenoir's sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 8 before the Honorable Elizabeth Hurley.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of another man on South Bend’s Queen Street back in 2020.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged 21-year-old Amari Lenoir on Friday with the crime.

He’s accused of shooting 47-year-old Dorian Harris in the 1100 block of Queen Street on November 1, 2020.

According to charging documents, Lenoir and Harris had been in an argument shortly before gunshots were heard.

Police found Harris dead at the scene along with spent shell casings and projectiles in the surrounding area.

Multiple witnesses identified Lenoir as the shooter, but Lenoir said he was in Texas at the time of the incident. However, the investigation found that Lenoir was in South Bend at the time of the homicide and didn’t go to Texas until a few days later.
