Charges filed in Michigan City murder

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Charges have been filed against Jacob Van Dyke for the murder of Jasson Nelson, who died in November 2019, according to Michigan City Police.
On October 28, just before 4 p.m., Michigan City Police responded to Franklin and 9th streets on reports of an injured subject.
When they arrived, they found Jasson Nelson with stab wounds to the chest, reports said.
Nelson was taken to Memorial Hospital where he died of his injuries on November 1.
The investigation led police to Van Dyke as a suspect in the case.
On December 18, an arrest warrant was issued for Van Dyke for one count of murder.
Van Dyke was arrested on one count of murder on December 19.
