Charges dropped against former South Bend Common Council candidate

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Domestic battery charges have been dropped against former candidate for the South Bend Common Council Roosevelt Stewart.
Both charges were dismissed without prejudice on Wednesday, according to court documents.
Stewart, who was a Republication candidate for the 2nd District, was originally charged with domestic battery and domestic battery in the presence of a child on August 15, 2023.
The alleged victim was Stewart's teenage daughter.
