SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Centre Township Branch Library reopens after closing for more than nine months to remodel.
Improvements include new windows, floors, study rooms, new play areas for the kids, and a brand new outdoor space called Story Garden.
"Today is our first day open back for the public, says Elaine Albaugh, the assistant manager of the Centre Branch. "We've been here for about two and a half weeks, unboxing books, getting things on the shelves, getting everything set up and ready for patrons to come back. So we're super excited to welcome everyone back today."
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9.
Centre Township Branch Library is located on Kern Road in South Bend.
