One injured in Cass County crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- At around 11 p.m. May 25, the Cass County police were called to investigate a crash on Brownsville St. near M-62 in Jefferson Township.

It was reported that Gila Wigton, a 42-year-old Marcellus resident, was traveling east on Brownsville St. when he crossed the center line and struck a vehicle stopped in the west bound lane.

The driver of the struck vehicle was 23-year-old Matthew Dyda of Edwardsburg.

Both Wigton and Dyda were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are considered a factor in this crash.

Wigton was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in crash.
