Canoe and boat rental season starts April 15 in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind.- From April 15 to October 15, canoe rentals are open for the Elkhart River and Fidler Pond Park.

Rent kayaks, canoes and pedal boats at Fidler Pond Park for $10 per hour per boat.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

For $2, anyone over the age of 18 may also rent a fishing pole to go bank fishing for two hours at the pond.

Rentals are offered daily starting at 8 a.m. for one- or two-hour rentals.

Fidler Pond Park is located at 1424 Lincolnway East.

The rental fee for the Elkhart River Canoe Trip is $40 per canoe and lasts approximately four hours.

The canoe trip, beginning in Shanklin Park on West Plymouth Ave and ending at Ox Bow County Park, is offered on Saturdays only.

Lifejackets are provided and mandatory, but a shuttle back to Shanklin Park is not.

Reservations for Elkhart River canoe trips may be made online or in-person and must be made at least four days prior to the date reserved.
