ELKHART, Ind. -- Join the Elkhart County Parks on Feb. 8 to build bat houses for bats at the Ox Bow Haus Shelter. 

Bats are one of the most beneficial mammals on our planet and almost 25 percent of all mammals on earth are bats.

Bat houses provide homes for bats to overwinter, raise their young or simply sleep during the day.

All materials will be provided to build the houses. 

Please bring a battery-operated drill if you have one.

The event is 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and costs $17 per house.
