Buchanan intersection to close Thursday for utility replacement

BUCHANAN, Mich. -- The City of Buchanan announced due to ongoing underground utility work along Front Street, the intersection at Oak Street will be closed beginning Thursday for utility replacement and connections.
This closure will require drivers to use the official detour route as seen in the city-provided map above.
City officials say access to downtown businesses and public parking will remain open.
There will be “No Thru Traffic” signs, but vehicles may pass the barricades to reach downtown destinations.
To help people traverse downtown, the city has installed extra signage throughout the construction area to guide drivers to parking and business access points.
