Bremen Superintendent responds to criticism and parent-led survey
BREMEN, Ind. -- Bremen Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim White sat down with ABC57 News on Tuesday to discuss a survey posted by parents to a "Nosey Neighbors of Bremen Indiana" Facebook group.
The survey asked parents in the area to voice their concerns about Bremen Public Schools, so that the findings could be presented to the school board next month.
Dr. White claims he's constantly criticized by parents in the area, and while he encourages anyone with concerns to reach out to him, he says he doesn't typically hear from people directly. Dr. White says he more often finds out about critiques against him or the school district through Facebook posts.
The original poster of the survey declined to speak with ABC57 News and asked to remain anonymous.
Dr. White added that he doesn't intend to put much stock into the findings of the survey because he feels it's coming from a "negative place."
He also believes some of the criticism he's facing stems from the reintegration of a middle school student who struggled with mental health challenges in November of 2024, and was briefly considered a security threat.
Dr. White says he was open and honest about bringing the student back into Bremen classrooms but was criticized for doing so, despite at other points being asked to be more transparent with the community.
