It took a while, but temperatures finally made it above freezing Thursday afternoon. The "warmer" temperatures plus the breeze will help to dry things up this evening. So, even as temperatures fall to near 20 degrees overnight, widespread slick spots due to refreezing are not a concern. There still could be some patchy black ice early on Friday morning, however. Friday will be uneventful with highs near 30 and mostly cloudy skies. Another round of wintry mix arrives by Saturday afternoon. This round looks to be more of a "classic" wintry mix, meaning parts of Michiana could just see snow, while others could experience a mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Early outlooks signal the potential for a few inches of snow, mainly across southwest Michigan, and some possible impacts Saturday evening. Lake effect snow showers are possible early Sunday morning. Otherwise, Sunday will be cloudy and cold with highs in the upper 20s. Next week will be chilly and mostly quiet with our next chance of snow arriving Wednesday night.

Tonight: Mostly clear and cold. Patchy black ice possible. Low 19.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy. High 30.

Saturday: PM wintry mix. High 32.

Sunday: Cloudy and cold. Slight chance of a snow shower early. High 29.
