Former President Donald Trump shot at Pennsylvania rally, shooter and one bystander confirmed dead

UPDATE (9:38 p.m.) on 7/24/24: President Joe Biden has addressed the nation from the Oval Office, calling for unity and saying political violence is not how we settle disagreements.

UPDATE (4:12 p.m.) on 7/24/24: President Joe Biden announced that he is ordering an independent review of security protocols at the rally where former President Donald Trump was shot in an assassination attempt.

UPDATE (9:47 p.m.): ABC confirmed in a joint statement from the RNC and Former President Donald Trump's campaign team, that Trump 'looks forward to seeing everyone in Milwaukee' and that the RNC will continue as planned.  

UPDATE (8:52p.m.): Former President Donald Trump has released a statement, following the shooting at his Pennsylvania Rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

UPDATE (7:48 p.m.): CNN is reporting "Former President Donald Trump was apparently injured during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday."

CNN states " Witnesses heard popping sounds, then Trump and others on the stage behind him ducked for cover."

Secret Service rushed the stage to cover and clear Trump away from the stage.

Trump was reported to have blood on his face, but he shouted back at supporters and gave them fist pumps as Secret Service Agents led Trump to the back of an S-U-V.

The Secret Service has confirmed that Trump is safe, and ATF Agents have been called in to assist the Secret Service Investigation.

UPDATE (7:25 p.m.): ABC confirms that the Pennsylvania rally shooter is confirmed to be dead, with one confirmed bystander fatality. 

UPDATE (7:17 p.m.): Spokesperson of Former President Donald Trump confirms that Trump is said to be 'fine' and is being checked out at a medical facility. 

Trump is said to have thanked local police and Secret Service for their swift response, and it has been confirmed to be gunfire that sounded off at rally.
