Boys & Girls Clubs offering free five-week summer program

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northern Indiana Corridor SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northern Indiana Corridor (BGCNIC) announced Thursday the return of the clubs' free, five-week Summer Learning Labs for 2026, which is available to students entering the 1st through 8th grades in the upcoming school year.
The free program offers academic support in the mornings as well as "afternoon enrichment" for rising 1st through 8th graders across St. Joseph, Cass, Pulaski, and White Counties.
Registration is free, but on a first-come, first-served basis. The BGCNIC website has a full list of locations and program details., though as of Thursday, the following locations are open for registration:
South Bend Community School Corporation:
- Edison K-8 School: Open to current SBCSC K–7th graders (rising 1st–8th).
- Navarre Middle School: Open to current SBCSC K–7th graders (rising 1st–8th).
School City of Mishawaka:
- Emmons Elementary: Open to current SCM K – 5th graders (rising 1st–6th)
- John Young Middle School: Open to current SCM 6th–7th graders (rising 7th–8th)
Other Districts:
- Paramount: Open to current Paramount K–7th graders (rising 1st–8th).
- Success Academy: Open to current Success Academy K–4th graders (rising 1st–5th).
- Tween Center (Phair Family Leadership Center): Open to current 5th–8th graders (rising 6th–9th) from any school district.
- Walkerton Elementary School: Open to current John Glenn School Corporation K–7th graders (rising 1st–8th).
