Boo-tiful Benefit Bash benefits women with cancer
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A Halloween bash for a good cause, Pop-up with a Purpose, hosting a 'Boo-tiful Benefit Bash' tonight.
The organization raises money for local charities through events with local bands.
The Halloween themed bash featured lots of good tunes, a costume contest, and a silent auction, with all proceeds from the night going directly to the non-profit 'Hello Gorgeous', who give free professional makeovers to women battling cancer.
“Everybody coming out and able to enjoy a good time and we want people to know what Hello Gorgeous does. It’s not just about raising the money, it’s about raising awareness,” stated Co-founder of Pop-up with a Purpose Steve Emmons.
Hello Gorgeous is a nonprofit that was near and dear to ABC57 News Anchor Jennifer Copeland, who recently passed away after a brave battle with cancer.
We spoke with Trisha Greenlee from Hello Gorgeous on the impact that Jennifer left behind with the nonprofit.
“She was so genuine. She was so, if you met her on the street, if you met her at Panera, if you met her at an event, she was Jennifer. She encompassed truly what just a good, kind, kindhearted person was and so, we need that in the world. We need to be able to have these individuals who are in the community be able to set the standard for what, what we want our kids to grow up to be,” stated Greenlee.
