City of Dowagiac DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- The City of Dowagiac announced the April 7 issued boil water order has been canceled as of April 9.
Officials say several rounds of testing by an independent lab confirmed no bacterial contamination exists.
The boil order originally stemmed from a dead squirrel being found at a water treatment plant.
It’s no longer necessary to boil water used for drinking and cooking prior to consumption.
