Boil water notice lifted for Benton Charter Township

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- At 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Benton Charter Township Supervisor announced that the boil water notice has been lifted for Benton Charter Township.

On Saturday, Jan. 17, the Benton Charter Township Supervisor sent out a boil water notice, informing residents they would have to boil their water to ensure it was safe to drink or use in cooking.

As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Benton Charter Township Supervisor says corrective measures were taken and the water has come up clean in testing, with no coliform bacteria detected. The Benton Charter Township Supervisor says the water is now safe to drink without boiling.
