ELKHART — Police in Elkhart confirm a body was found in the St. Joseph River after they were dispatched to the 200 block of South Michigan St.
Officials confirm the call came in round 7:18 p.m. Tuesday night.
According to the police, an officer and members of the Fire Department located a male deceased in the river.
They found the body near north side of the river near Lexington Avenue and Vine Street.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit will handle the investigation.
