NOW: Downtown South Bend bars prepare for influx of college football fanatics

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- As Eddy Street businesses are still facing the midnight curfew, sports bars in downtown south bend are ready for a big piece of the action.

For newer establishments, like Shamrock's sports bar, and co-owner Josh Thompson, the game means more than wins and losses.

"This game," Thompson said. "It's been on the calendar for a very long time. That hype that has been generated because of where these teams are in the ranking system, just makes it that much more special, so we definitely are looking forward to not only the remainder of today – but tomorrow."

For director of operations at Manny's and the Lauber, Kelsey Landsberg, business is booming.

"It's nice to see an influx of reservations for a night like this, especially with a lot of college football and other things going on," Landsberg said.

Following Saturday night's game, South Bend Transportations "Gameday Express" will be making trips between downtown South Bend and Notre Dame Stadium for two hours after the game.
