DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports on Wednesday around 3:30 p.m., the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant alongside deputies at a home in the 200 block of Halstead Street.

When searching the home, authorities say they found several guns, multiple syringes filled with black tar heroin, and other drug paraphernalia.

A 58-year-old man was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of Firearms, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Possession of Heroin.

The suspect's name is withheld pending arraignment on the charges.

The investigation is ongoing.
