ELKHART, Ind. -- On Monday, Feb. 9, at approximately 4:40 p.m. a 31-year-old bicyclist sideswiped a school bus. 

The bicyclist was traveling south on C.R. 31 South of US Highway 20 and the driver of the school bus was traveling north on C.R. 31 South of US Highway 20. 

The bicyclist traveled left of the center of the roadway and sideswiped the school bus, causing minor damage to the bus and his bicycle.

The bicyclist showed signs of impairment on scene and alcohol is believed to be a factor of his actions. 

The driver of the school bus and her three passengers had no injuries. 

The bicyclist declined medical treatment by EMS and was transported by a friend to a local hospital for a laceration to the upper lip.
