CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash between a bicyclist and a vehicle took place around 2:46 p.m. on Rudy Road in Wayne Township.

"Investigation shows that 32-year-old Dowagiac resident Michael Brown was bicycling northbound on Rudy Road, when he was struck by 84-year-old Dowagiac resident Harvey Anson," the CCSO said. "Both [were] traveling northbound when the crash occurred. Brown was transported by SMCAS to Lakeland Niles Hospital."

Authorities say a seatbelt was worn by Anson at the time of the crash, but Brown was not wearing a helmet.

There is no update on Brown's condition as of noon on Jan. 16.
