MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Bethel University is set to host a celebration for the birthday of former Governor of Indiana Dr. Otis R. Bowen, at the 'Bowen Birthday Bash' on Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. in the Bowen Museum. located in the Otis and Elizabeth Bowen Library building at Bethel. 

This event is designated to generate interest in the Bowen Museum, as it contains artifacts from Dr. Bowen's life.

“Bethel University is honored to house the artifacts of such a significant historical figure in the state of Indiana,” says Abson Joseph, Ph.D., vice president for academic services at Bethel University. “We hope students will take the opportunity to explore the museum as we honor Dr. Bowen's birthday."

Students and visitors will be able to enjoy punch and cake while getting the opportunity to tour the museum and even try on replicas of Dr. Bowen's horn-rimmed glasses.

This year marks what would be Dr. Bowen's 107th birthday.
