SOUTH BEND, Ind. - - Spring Break is almost in full swing, and while some here in Michiana may be traveling, officials are warning them to be aware of illnesses they may contract and bring back home.
In June, the CDC issued a health advisory, urging travelers to be aware of Dengue Fever, which has become more prevalent in recent years. According to the Mayo Clinic, Dengue is a mosquito-borne causes a fever with flu-like symptoms, and in severe cases can cause bleeding and even death.
