Ball State University appoints new Dean of University Libraries
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University is set to be joined by Dr. Nancy Abashian effective April 14 has the Ball State University Dean of University Libraries.
Garnering nearly two decades of leadership experience in academic libraries, Dr. Abashian holds a bachelor's degree in human development and a Ph.D. in community research and public affairs from Binghamton University, in addition to a Master of Library Science from the University at Buffalo.
“Dr. Abashian impressed us throughout the national search process with her commitment to fostering innovation, inclusion, and collaboration,” stated Dr. Anand R. Marri, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Ball State. “Her extensive experience in strategic planning, program development, and public services positions her to make a significant impact on our campus.
“I am incredibly excited and honored to join the Ball State University community as dean of University Libraries,” Dr. Abashian said. “Ball State's commitment to student success, a spirit of discovery, and a culture of engagement deeply resonates with me.
