Autopsy complete on man shot at LaSalle and Eddy Street on Friday

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit released the results of the autopsy on 25-year-old Deundre Lamar Hawkins, who died Friday morning.
The forensic pathologist in Fort Wayne determined Hawkins died of a gunshot wound and his manner of death was homicide.
South Bend Police responded to LaSalle Avenue and Eddy Street around 12:15 a.m. after hearing gunshots.
When they arrived to the area they found evidence of gunfire but no victims were found, police said.
A short time later, they learned a gunshot victim, later identified as Hawkins, was being treated at Memorial Hospital, police said.
