ATV crash sends 29-year-old man to hospital in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Ind. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to an ATV crash at a residence in the 67000 block of Tharp Lake Street on Sunday around 7:52 p.m.
Authorities' initial investigation shows an ATV, driven by a 29-year-old Elkhart man, was traveling through the yard of the residence at a high rate of speed, before losing control and hitting a ditch.
The report goes on to say he then hit his head on the handlebars and separated from the ATV.
Deputies report he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Elkhart Hospital General for injuries sustained.
The crash remains under investigation.
