Assault victim, Judy Annis, passed away from her injuries
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - ABC57 reported in September of authorities saying 81-year-old Judy Annis was assaulted by 68-year-old Randy Scott.
According to her family, Annis recently passed away from her injuries.
Annis suffered significant injuries including a punctured lung and skull fractures, following the attack.
With this news, a previous assault charge for Scott, has shifted to a murder, as prosecutors filed the murder charge against Scott on Wednesday, October 11.
A Go Fund Me page is being presented by Annis' family, trying to reach a goal of $5,000 for financial support to give "neighborhood Granny," as Annis was lovingly known as, a burial and celebration of life that she deserves.
The family also asks for prayer for peace.
Annis' granddaughter, Heather Valentiny, speaks of her grandmother as a loving, generous angel who opened her home to anyone in need.
Annis is a mother of two, grandmother of 13, great-grandmother of 22 and great-great-grandmother of one.
So far, after two days, $1,110 has been raised.
