Artists and businesses gathered at State Theater selling their items

SOUTH BEND --- Local artists and businesses gathered at the State Theater in downtown South Bend for a bazaar on Sunday.

The theater opened its doors to 37 vendors and local craftsmen who set up booths to sell their items.

In December they will be open the first three Sundays, and the theater hopes that the event will bring the community into downtown.

We caught up with one vendor who takes old dolls and refurbishes them into grotesque creations.

"Then I worked with multiple layers of paint to dry brush him and get the effect you see here.  He's got a little tail that you can bend and pose.  With it being October these dolls do pretty well in time for Halloween of course, a lot of people have come out and been really supportive," said Karen Nemes.

She also said this is her first time vending in person, however she has sold her horror dolls to people all over the country.
