'Art Walk Wednesdays' in Elkhart kick off with a new addition
ELKHART, Ind. -- It was all about the arts in downtown Elkhart, as the City with a Heart hosted its first 'Art Walk Wednesday' of the summer.
The event beings together local artists, musicians, and community art lovers to connect with each other and appreciate local creative talents.
Over 15 artists showcased their work in and around local businesses along Main Street.
And tonight was a special version of the art walk, as three new murals were unveiled in what's called the 'Elkh'art Alley'.
The Pillars of Elkhart commissioned the colorful and lively pieces to brighten and refresh the popular alley.
"It's kinda needed a refresh for several years now, there was some damage to the pieces that were here before, so we just figured it was time and we figured Art Walk was the greatest time to kick it off," stated Member of The Pillars of Elkhart Adam Fann.
"I have an intense urge to make everything like play time, bring a little levity to things. So there's not a big message in this or anything, I just wanted to make something pretty and I hope people like it," stated Mural Artist Nick Fry.
The Elkhart Alley is located near the 200 block of South Main Street by Stephenson's.
You can go check out the murals anytime, or during another edition of 'Wednesday Art Walks', those will be on July 30, Aug. 27, and Sept. 24.
