April's First Fridays theme is 'Game On!' in downtown South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Downtown South Bend (DTSB) will host April's First Fridays on April 5, with the theme being "Game On!", a celebration of sports and games.

Pickleball beginner lessons and open play will be available on Michigan Street, with drop-in games on the Gridiron like badminton, cornhole, and more.

There will also be drop-in board games at The Music Village and Chicory.

Organizers say you can also enjoy free Behind the Scenes Tours at Four Winds Field in advance of the Cubs' April 9 opening day,

First Fridays' block parties have returned for the season with live music, food, retail vendors, and Studebaker cars on display.

Organizers say the 100 and 200 blocks of South Michigan Street from Washington to Wayne will be closed on Friday, April 5, from 1 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for pickleball and the block party.

The First Fridays activities go from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
