South Bend native competes for National Jr. Ranger
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Applications are now open for the 12th annual Criminal Justice Citizen's Academy.
The academy is open to the public, and allows participants to learn more about the operations of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Elkhart County.
The experience also offers an inside look at the goings-on of the Elkhart County Courthouse.
Topics of discussion include criminal trials and courtroom procedures, investigations and drug crimes, pre-trial diversion, victim assistance, child support and juvenile crimes.
Applications can be turned in online at http://www.elkhartcountyprosecutor.com/programs-services/citizens-criminal-justice-academy and are due by September 9.
Classes will meet one night a week for eight weeks with actual dates to be determined. Meetings will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
