SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend’s Department of Public Works announced on Tuesday it is now accepting applications for the 2025 Curb and Sidewalk Reimbursement Program for property owners.

City officials say the goal of the program is to help with the costs to repair curbs, sidewalks and ADA curb ramps adjacent to privately owned properties.

"Homeowners and property owners within city limits, including businesses, are eligible for the program," a city spokesperson said.

"Reimbursement rates depend on the property type and location, with higher rates offered to homeowners in designated target areas. The target areas, determined by household income and sidewalk condition, change annually to spread the benefit across parts of the city that need it the most."
