Amtrak reports record breaking travel numbers over Thanksgiving weekend

CHICAGO, Ill. -- The numbers are in and it turns out Thanksgiving weekend was a record breaker for Amtrak.
On Thanksgiving the rail system transported a record number of people. It was close to 139,000 passengers.
Ridership was up almost 3 percent from last year. In the Midwest, one of the largest increases was in the route between Chicago and Carbondale, Illinois.
