NOW: Amidst several rounds of storms, some could be severe today
NEXT:

There are multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms today with a moderate chance of thunderstorms becoming severe within these several rounds. While all threats are on the table, the time of day will influence what risks are more likely than others. The first chance of the day will be from mid-morning (8-10 AM) to noon with the main concern being pockets of gusty winds and torrential downpours across Michiana. After a brief intermission, more storms could begin to develop off the initial wave around 1-2 PM EDT in a more discrete mode, which would introduce a low-end tornado threat in the afternoon and evening in addition to hail and heavy rain. Severe weather is far from guaranteed today, but if storms are able to break through the cap in our atmosphere, then they will intensify quickly. The common denominator across all chances for thunderstorms today and the rest of the week is heavy rain. Flooding is the overall greatest concern the rest of this week and the chance of some low-lying roads being flooded and retention ponds spilling over by the end of Thursday is high.

Highs sit in the 70s today but crash into the 40s tomorrow. Michiana returns to the 70s and 60s on Thursday and Friday.

Today: Scattered thunderstorms. High 74.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. Low 40.

Wednesday: Scattered thunderstorms. High 48.

Thursday: Showers. High 72.
