City of Goshen set to host International Women’s Day Luncheon
SOUTH BEND, Ind.—It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to meet ABC 57’s Pet of the Week.
This week, we’re introducing you to the second cat ever to be featured on the segment.
Her name is Sakura, which means, “cherry blossom,” in Japanese.
She is a brown tabby, domestic short-haired cat. She may seem shy at first, but will show her true colors once she feels more comfortable with her new family.
Volunteers looking after Sakura at South Bend Animal Resource Center say patience and trust are the two keys to finding the right home for her to bloom.
“For her, I would say anyone older that can be more relaxed, a calmer home, until she feels more comfortable and confident. Somebody that will give her time. Because, in a new environment, it could take her weeks, it could take her months to come out of her shell,” said Sue Durski, South Bend Animal Resource Center Volunteer Coordinator.
If you’re interested in giving Sakura that forever home she’s been looking for, or in viewing the center’s adoptable pets, visit the center’s website here for information on how to visit and adopt.
