SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- A Rosie Place is hosting its ninth annual "It's a Wonderful Life" open house on Saturday from 10 until noon. The event is for medically fragile and special needs children and their families.
Children will be able to enjoy crafts, hot cocoa, cookies, and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event is geared towards children who may not be able to go to malls or stores during the holiday season because they are hospitalized or require special accommodations.
Staff at A Rosie Place say they make sure every detail is taken into account in order to make sure every child feels comfortable. " Everybody is used to the children with maybe machines, ventilators, G-tubes, things that they need for feeding and here it’s just our normal," said Tieal Bishop, CEO at A Rosie Place. "So families walking and they say 'We love that we walk in and our normal is your normal.'”
The event is free and once again is open to not only families that come to A Rosie Place for care, but families of special needs children as well.
