TALIA’S TAKE: Playoff drama and betting heat

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- This week, I couldn’t hold back my first take: Saturday is going to be an absolute blood bath. The Irish on Senior Day do not play around.

Over the past four seasons, they’ve outscored opponents by an average of 43 points on this exact day. So yes, if you’re taking the spread, don’t walk—run. Then grab yourself a beverage after the game because history tells us it’s going to be a good day for Notre Dame.

That win over Pitt was everything the Irish needed, and really everything defensive coordinator Chris Ash needed too. This defense has been holding teams to just over 14 points per game. And Jeremiyah Love? Fans are obsessed. He put up more total yards last weekend than Pitt’s entire offense.

Then came the playoff ranking controversy. Miami fans were not happy with Notre Dame landing at number nine. Even Alabama sitting at number ten seemed a little frustrated with the rankings. As for me? Well, you can see my take in the video.

It does look like a little luck may be leaning in Notre Dame’s favor. According to ESPN, the Irish currently sit at +1100 to win the national championship. So, if you’re feeling confident and throw $100 on Notre Dame, you’re looking at a $1,000 return.

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty good reward for believing in the blue and gold.
