TALIA’S TAKE: Irish fans finally show love after back-to-back wins

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame fans are finally smiling again. After two straight wins, the Irish social media community has shifted from frustration to hype—and it’s all building toward a quarterback showdown this weekend.

The buzz started after Notre Dame’s dominant win over Arkansas. Fans loved the explosive offense, which even earned national recognition as one of the best offensive performances of the weekend. But not everyone agreed with the play-calling—some thought the trick plays were “too much” with such a big lead.

Still, quarterback CJ Carr continues to shine. Through four games, he’s thrown for nearly 1,100 yards and nine touchdowns. CBS Sports now ranks him as a top-four star nationally, and even Boise State’s head coach called him a “future first-round pick.”

Despite the statement win, the Irish only moved up one spot in the AP poll—something that sparked frustration online. One fan said Notre Dame is being punished for having two early losses close together, while other playoff contenders had easier schedules.

Looking ahead, Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen is emerging as a major threat. He’s also thrown nine touchdowns this season and is on a 3–0 run, ranking among the top Group of Five conferences quarterbacks.

Talia’s Take: Saturday’s game is shaping up to be a battle of the offenses. CJ Carr has the hot hand, but the Irish defense will have its hands full against Madsen.
