37-year-old woman sentenced to 12 years for distributing meth

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced that 37-year-old Angelica Ortiz of Michigan City was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to distribution of methamphetamine.

Following the 12 years, Ortiz will have 3 years of supervised release.

Case documents state in the fall of 2022 Ortiz and co-defendant, Kyle Kirkland, distributed methamphetamine to several individuals in Michigan City.

Kirkland was sentenced in October of 2023 to 11 years and 5 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
