LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A 28-year-old man has been charged with Rape and Intimidation in La Porte County after an investigation beginning in September 2025.

Andrew Hays, the 28-year-old man, was charged with Rape as a Level 3 Felony and Intimidation as a Level 6 Felony.

According to an interview with the underage victim, the incident occurred in Michigan City on Aug. 22, 2025. According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, this is corroborated by a welfare check performed by officers that same day.

Hays has already had his initial hearing. He's due back in court April 30.
