15-year-old arrested after allegedly stealing laptop at gunpoint
ABC 57 SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A 15-year-old boy is sitting in the Juvenile Justice Center after being identified as the suspect in an armed robbery during a Facebook Marketplace exchange.
The South Bend Police Department reports a call came in on May 31 for an armed robbery in the 2000 block of South Bend Avenue.
Officers responded to find two people who said they came to the Martin's Super Market parking lot to meet with the potential buyer of a laptop they listed on Facebook Marketplace.
The victims told police during the transaction an unknown person displayed what looked like a firearm before taking the laptop without paying.
The investigation identified the suspect as a 15-year-old boy, who was later found and interviewed.
The suspect was then detained and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.
