14th Annual Four Winds Invitational to benefit Beacon Children’s Hospital this summer

NOW: 14th Annual Four Winds Invitational to benefit Beacon Children’s Hospital this summer

South Bend, IN -- This summer, the Four Winds Invitational is returning to the South Bend Country Club for its 14th annual tournament August 1st-3rd.

As part of the Epson Tour, the official qualifying tour for the LPGA, this event draws in rising stars in women’s professional golf from around the world. These athletes will be competing for a $225,000 prize and the opportunity to advance to the LPGA Tour.

Beyond the competition, proceeds from the Four Winds Invitational come right back into the community. Over the years, the tournament has raised more than one million dollars for Beacon Children’s Hospital. This year Beacon plans to use the proceeds to expand its Angel Eye platform. The system allows parents to view their babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) remotely and in real time, providing comfort and connection during a challenging time, by introducing NICU2Home, a program designed to support families with vital resources as they transition from hospital to home life.

Jen Tonkovich, Director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Beacon, shared the importance of this partership. She emphasized that having a baby in the NICU is often overwhelming, and being able to provide parents with tools, education, and visual access to their child, on their own time, is a big help to families.

The tournament’s tee off event brought together community leaders Thursday morning.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller praised the event for helping put South Bend on the world stage.

After partners were able to try the course out for themselves, among them, Paige Warren, a tribal citizen who was granted a sponsored exemption to compete in this year’s tournament.

As tournament weekend approaches, organizers are still looking for volunteers, that are essential to putting on the event.
