SOUTH BEND, Ind.—In April, crews broke ground in South Bend’s near northwest neighborhood on the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project that created some of Michiana’s newest homeowners.
2000 volunteers spent one week building 23 affordable homes at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Market Street.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood even stopped by to help out.
In the fall, families began to move in and will now get to spend the holiday season in their new homes.
