Woman arrested for allegedly threatening to blow up Kosciusko County DCS office

Stephanie Lang

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Documents from Kosciusko County Superior Court reveal 36-year-old Stephanie Lang was arrested and charged with Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony, and Harassment by using a computer network or other form of electronic, a Misdemeanor, following a series of phone calls made to the Kosciusko County Department of Child Services on Aug. 21.

Lang's status conference is scheduled for Sept.  25.

The Warsaw Police Department reports an officer was called to speak with the manager and receptionists at the Kosciusko County DCS office regarding phone calls from Lang allegedly threatening to bring a weapon and blow up the place.

The report states Lang had called the office to speak with her case worker regarding her children, but when she was informed she couldn't be transferred at the time, she began to scream over the phone, during which she allegedly yelled she was going to show up with a weapon and blow up the place.

Police were told Lang was calling non-stop.

While speaking with the DCS employees, police say Lang continued to call the office but was ignored.

Police then asked the employees to answer the phone and put Lang on speaker. Lang continued to ask to be transferred to her case worker.

Officers on scene say when Lang was told she couldn't be once more, she said, "Okay, well then I guess I will be showing up there with, I guess, this gun. Cause don't nobody want to listen. And since you don't need a license to carry. I guess it's gonna be real sh**ty, huh. Might want to answer me. Well, I guess we're just going to have issues."

Police noted Lang continued calling DCS several more times. It was then learned Lang's phone number matched her number in law enforcement records.

Police were initially unable to locate Lang.
