What to expect on day three of the DNC
CHICAGO -- It's day three of the Democratic National Convention.
The focus for Wednesday's convention will be on Kamala Harris' Vice-Presidential running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, as they prepare for a pivotal moment in the campaign.
Walz, who has served as governor since 2019, will have his moment in the spotlight as Democrats officially nominate the 60-year-old as their Vice-Presidential candidate.
Wednesday's theme, according to convention organizers, is “A Fight for our Freedoms.” This message is central to Harris' campaign, in which they believe a second Trump presidency is a threat to the personal freedoms of Americans.
The focus will be on highlighting Walz as a "champion for America's working families and a staunch defender of those same fundamental freedoms."
Former President Bill Clinton, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and former South Bend Mayor and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg are also expected to take the stage.
Buttigieg is expected to outline a vision for America's future under a Harris-Walz administration and he’s not shying away from contrasting that with the idea of a second Trump term.
The former South Bend Mayor ran for president on the Democratic ticket in 2020 with his own promises of change if elected to take over from Trump.
Speaking ahead of his address, Buttigieg shared excitement and a deep sense of honor at the opportunity to shape what he believes American politics could look like with Harris and Walz in the White House.
