Scouts BSA Troop 541 of Buchanan celebrates centennial anniversary

NILES, Mich. -- Niles Scream Park knocked the dust off their masks to help Scouts BSA troop 541 of Buchanan celebrate 100 years of service.   

Through both sponsorships and service, the two organizations have been partnered since 2008.  

For Troop 541 Scout Master, Bill Blumka Niles scream Park has given his current and former troops a creative outlet, and a place to excel.  

“I’ve got scouts for years that have been big actors in the program,” Blumka said. “Tonight, I've got four actors that are Crip creatures, that’s the highest level of actors for scouts.”   

Scout troop 541 has collected a little over 38,000 hours of service since 2008, and in that time Blumka says the most rewarding part of leading the troop has been watching his scouts grow and evolve from their time spent with the organization.  

While this event was just a sneak peak of Niles Scream Park, their 53rd season of screams will begin on Friday, September 11th.
