MGN LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- Another local country has identified its first cases of West Nile Virus of the summer.
The La Porte County Health Department announced a pool of mosquitoes submitted for testing has tested positive for the virus. The sample was collected on June 30.
Health department officials recommend several mosquito prevention steps, including regularly emptying and cleaning outdoor fixtures that hold water, using bug spray, and to be especially aware at dusk and dawn.
